Presidential Theme 2025–26
Dear Fellow ASAMI India Members,
It is with immense pride and a deep sense of responsibility that I address you as the President of ASAMI India for the year 2025–26. As we embark on this new term, I am reminded of the remarkable journey this association has undertaken — from its humble beginnings to becoming a leading organisation in the field of limb reconstruction and deformity correction in our country.
Together We Build: Expanding Horizons in Limb Reconstruction — this theme encapsulates our collective aspiration to grow not just as individual surgeons, but as a unified community dedicated to clinical excellence and innovation.
ASAMI India has always been more than just a professional body. It is a community — a family of surgeons bound by a shared passion for the Ilizarov philosophy and a commitment to transforming the lives of patients with complex orthopaedic conditions. Our association stands on the shoulders of stalwarts who dedicated their careers to building this platform, and it is our privilege and duty to continue their legacy.
This year, our focus will be on expanding our academic reach, strengthening our training infrastructure, and fostering a culture of mentorship that supports surgeons at every stage of their career. We will be enhancing our webinar series, organising hands-on workshops across zones, and building a more robust fellowship programme — both nationally and internationally.
I am also deeply committed to ensuring that ASAMI India remains an inclusive and accessible organisation. Whether you are a young resident just beginning to explore the Ilizarov technique or an experienced surgeon who has been practising for decades, there is a place for you here — and a role you can play in shaping the future of our specialty.
We will be launching a new website and an online membership system, making it easier than ever for members across all 28 states to engage with ASAMI India's academic activities and community. Our new quarterly newsletter, CORA, will ensure every member stays informed, recognised, and connected.
I look forward to working with our dedicated Executive Committee, our State Representatives, and most importantly, each one of you — our valued members. Together, we will build something remarkable.
With warm regards and best wishes for the year ahead,
Dr. Jayant Sharma

Secretary's Priority
Dear Fellow ASAMI India Members,
It is a great honour to serve as the Secretary of ASAMI India for the term 2025–26. As I step into this role, I am acutely aware of the trust that has been placed in me by the membership and the Executive Committee, and I am committed to fulfilling this responsibility with dedication and transparency.
The role of the Secretary is, at its core, about communication and coordination. My primary goal this year is to ensure that every member of ASAMI India — whether in a metropolitan centre or a smaller city — feels connected, informed, and valued.
We are launching CORA — Comprehensive Overview & Reportage by ASAMI — our quarterly newsletter that will keep members updated, share academic insights, celebrate achievements, and report on events across the country.
To this end, we are launching CORA (Comprehensive Overview & Reportage by ASAMI) — our quarterly newsletter that will keep members updated, share academic insights, celebrate achievements, and report on events across the country. I invite every member to contribute — share your cases, your journeys, and your milestones. CORA belongs to all of us.
I will be working closely with our State Representatives to strengthen the grassroots network of ASAMI India. Our state representatives are the lifeline of this organisation — they are the connection between the national body and the surgical community in every corner of the country. Supporting and empowering them to do their best work is a key priority for me this year.
I am also committed to streamlining our administrative processes — from membership renewals to event registrations — to make them simpler, faster, and more accessible for all members. The new website and online membership system will make it easier than ever to engage with ASAMI India.
I look forward to serving you, and I welcome your ideas, feedback, and suggestions at any time. This organisation belongs to all of us — and together, we will make it stronger, more inclusive, and more impactful.
With warm regards,
Dr. Amar Soni
