Standout feature is - maximum 4 delegates on a table and micro teaching at each table by a trained Ilizarov Surgeon as table instructor.
Highlights of the course - "Less of Lectures, More of Hands-on Workshops"
- Focus is on developing Psychomotor skills
- 6 Saw Bone Workshops on Ilizarov Tibia Frame application - Wire Passing Techniques, Ilizarov for Nonunion, Bone Transport
- 2 Saw Bone Workshops on Alfa/MRS Fixator application - Femur & Tibia
- Dedicated Table Instructor (Practicing Ilizarov Surgeon) on each table
- 2-day intensive training designed for practicing orthopaedic surgeons & PG trainees
The course follows a well-established programme, teaching videos run before each workshop and the videos chunked into steps to make the concepts easier to understand and follow. The workshops are built to take the delegate through increasing levels of complexity so that they learn the principles of Ilizarov methodology and build a good basic knowledge of “what, when, where & how”.
A clear learning outcome, “delegate will be able to apply a simple tibial Ilizarov frame or Alfa fixator for a tibial nonunion, with confidence” and a course structured to meet that outcome, by way of (minimal) lectures, detailed hands on sawbones workshops and case discussions.
